The PS6100 array is being monitored by a SAN HQ running version 3.3, and all connection look fine. We have three different arrays all reporting the same thing. Any ideas?

Since reboot no Smart copies have been taken
Hi all,
I have a Server 2012 failover cluster connected to a volume on the dell Equallogic. We setup an ASM schedule to take Smart copies and that was all working fine to begin with. However, we had a UPS shutdown event and ever since then it is just not taking any more Smart copies.
Have checked on the ASM and the schedule is still there. Checked the volume is online and the cluster is ok.
Any suggestions?

Upgrade controller on PS4100 from (2*1Gb) to (2*10Gb) is it possible?
I currently have a PS4100 model # 70-0476 with a dual 1 Gb uplinks controllers. I need more bandwitdht for my backups and was wondering if its a possibility to "upgrade" the controller to a dual 10Gb uplink one?

2012R2 iscsi targets question
We have two clustered sql 2012 WIn server 2012 R2 boxes that use a single Equallogic 6100 for their database storage. We are trying to trouble shoot some performance problems with it right now and I noticed that "Enable multi-path" isn't checked on any of the connections. If I check this box after hours do I need to worry about the disks loosing connection to the SAN for any period of time?

Is there a way to specify a syslog server port ? or ways to modify the default port ?
I want to configure Equallogic to send logs to port udp 1518 of my syslog server. However, there is only an option to specify IP address but no option to specify port. The default port it uses seems to be 514 udp.
Can someone please advise me if there is way to modify the default port ?

Lost blocks detected in a RAID set
HI there. I am out of warranty but hoping somebody can guide me. After a RAID 5 rebuild (failed disk) I can see error 28.3.27 "Lost blocks detected in a RAID set". The rebuild completed successfully but not sure what to do here. SAN is PS6000 and running firmware Storage Array firmware V6.011 (R393352)

Hardward VSS snapshot issue with CommVault on Hyper-V 2012

Customer has a two node Hyper-V 2012 cluster. HIT 5.0 installed on both hosts.
Commvault is installed onto a VM.
Problem: Backups fail when VMs are on the 2nd host.
The snapshot is created and set online:

EqualLogic PS 4100 with Flashing Drive
We have an PS 4100 with a failed drive. We have it configured to RAID6
I have a spare drive and was wondering if pull the failed drive out and replace it with the new drive, how much of an impact will it be on users VMs that are running?
Should we migrate VMs to local ESXi storage first ?

PS4110 connected to NON-Stacked PowerConnect Switch on VMWARE
Is it possible to deploy PS4110 (active/passive) to two non-stacked/non-LAG PowerConnect switch for our vmware infra. I tried deploying it but when switch CM0 to CM1, the storage becomes "iSCSI initiator connection failure". I already implemented port binding and all necessary setup for vmware.
Please advice if possible.

How to migrate volumes between 2 groups of equalogic
Hello,
I have 2 groups of equalogic. One group with 2 PSM4110 which have end of warranty in 5 months and a second group with 2 new PS6210X.
For VMware , ii is not a big problem because there is a vmotion.
But I have 2 physical servers .Each server has 2 volumes on the first group.
My question ; how to migrate these volume from the first group to the second group.The 2 servers can be stopped during the opearation .In one server , i have Tivoli storage manager installed ( database data , database active log and storage pool ) .

Need help getting one of my PS4100 members back online.
I have an issue with a ps4100 at firmware 9.0.3.
It is a member of a group.
There are two identical members in the group.
They are both usually in the same production pool.
I needed to physically move one of the members so I moved it to a maintenance pool.
Once completely in the maintenance pool and no longer having any active traffic, I shut down the member and physically moved it.
Upon powering it back up it seemed like it took longer than normal for the cm0 controller to be recognized and rather then being patient I pulled the controller and reseated it. In doing so I believe I corrupted the data on its SmartCard. I did not know this at the time.
In fiddling with the member trying to fix it I now have this member in a state where if I try to restart from cm1 I get the following error:
Rebooting the active controller
reboot: A RAIDset is initializing, dirty, or faulted beyond recovery.
The array cannot be rebooted or halted in this state.
I have console connectivity to both controllers.
What is the best route to get this member back into a healthy state so I can bring it back into the production pool?
Do I need to reset it and rebuild it?

Restoring from snapshot question Vcenter

I've done some digging but can't seem to find the answer I'm looking for.
We currently are taking snapshots on the EQL every 60 mins. If I wanted to restore to a snapshot on the EQL with the the volume connected to Vcenter, what is the best step by step process to restore a volume with vms running on it?

Need pointers on merging pools and upgrading old firmware
I need some guidance on the best plan for pool merge and firmware upgrades.
I have a legacy group that was built by a previous team member. The group has three members and each member has been put into its own pool.
This makes it difficult to safely do firmware upgrades and doesn't allow for performance load balancing.
I would like to merge these three pools into one which I have not done before.
I will also make a maintenance pool that will have no volumes where I can safely temporarily move a member for firmware upgrades without any possible loss of access to volumes during controller restarts which is part of our other group's standard procedures.
Here are the current members and their ancient firmware versions:
san001 - ps6000 - 5.0.2
san002 - ps6000 - 5.0.2
san003 - ps6100 - 5.1.1
My questions are:
1) Will these two model types work together well in the same pool? They all have the same drive sizes and types.
2) Will I be able to merge them and have them function temporarily in the same pool on the above non-matching firmware versions?
3) The server OSs that are accessing the volumes is Citrix XenServer 6.5 and CentOS 6.9 what is the highest version of EqualLogic firmware I can take these members to without causing compatibility issues with the initiators?
4) When I am ready to upgrade them what is the correct process? Can I go right from (5.0.x and 5.1.x) to (6.0.11) to (7.1.12) etc getting all members to the next version before moving on to a higher branch bypassing 5.2.11 and 7.0.10 along the way?

EQL Powershell Scripts: get replica reserve in use percent
SanHQ provides a stat on replication "Reserve in Use Percent" which shows how much of your replica reserve space on the partner you are using for any given volume.
I want to grab that stat, or even the usage in GB from the eql powershell scripts but having a hard time finding where I can grab that.
Any help?

I frequently get this error:

Updated PS Series Configuration Guide?
Is there an updated Dell PS Series Configuration Guide that list the usable storage with 8TB drives? The only guide I can find only lists up to 6TB drives in the PS6210E and PS6610E?
I need to find out the usable capacity of the following systems with the different Raid Configurations
PS6210E - 24x8TB Raid10 and Raid 6
PS6610E - 42x8TB Raid10 and Raid 6
PS6610E - 84x8TB Raid10 and Raid 6

Windows 2012 is not reclaiming space on EqualLogic PS6100
Hi,
We use Windows 2012 R2 hyper-v cluster with CSV volume connected from iscsi EqualLogic PS6100 storage array (firmware 8.1.0).
The problem is that 15TB volume in SAN reports 5TB (4TB free + 1TB unreserved) free space but in Windows Failover Cluster Manager it reports 7.3TB of free space.
I know that Windows 2012 R2 support automatic reclaim of the space on the storage, but why we see such huge difference?
